Kelly & Ivan
Kelly and Ivan’s Romantic Bride & Groom portrait at Waldorf Astoria was a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t fade after the wedding day, it evolves, deepens, and becomes something even more meaningful with time. A year after they said “I do,” they chose to step back into their wedding attire and celebrate their journey together with a sunset post-wedding session that felt both elegant and intimate.
Set against the refined backdrop of the Waldorf Astoria, Cancun, the session unfolded like a visual story of romance and timeless style. From the moment they arrived, Kelly and Ivan carried a natural ease with each other, the kind that only comes from a year of shared life, memories, and growth. Ivan looked sharp and classic in his tuxedo, embodying understated sophistication, while Kelly radiated grace in her wedding gown, every detail of the dress coming alive once again in this new chapter.
We began shooting inside the hotel, where every corner offered a unique atmosphere aroud the lobby area. The interiors were nothing short of stunning, rich textures, thoughtful design, and elegant décor created a perfect canvas for their portraits. Soft natural light filtered through the spaces, highlighting their expressions and the subtle connection between them. Whether framed by architectural lines or surrounded by luxurious details, Kelly and Ivan seemed completely in their element, as if the setting had been made just for them.
As we explored more of the property, we moved toward the front area of the hotel, where a beautifully maintained garden added a fresh and vibrant contrast to the indoor scenes. The greenery and open air brought a sense of lightness to the session. Here, their energy shifted slightly, more playful, more relaxed, while still holding onto that refined elegance. Walking hand in hand along the garden area, sharing quiet laughs and glances, they created moments that felt genuine and effortless.
The final part of the session took us to the beach, just as the sun began its descent. This was the perfect way to close the experience. The golden light of sunset wrapped everything in warmth, casting soft hues across the sky and reflecting gently on the water. Against this natural backdrop, Kelly and Ivan’s connection stood out even more vividly. The movement of the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the fading light all came together to create a truly cinematic atmosphere. Sunset light will always be the best light!
It was here, at the edge of the day, that some of the most emotional images were captured. There’s something powerful about photographing a couple at sunset, especially one revisiting their wedding story a year later. The light feels symbolic, like a quiet celebration of everything they’ve built together since that first day.
In the end, it was more than just a photoshoot… it was a celebration of enduring love, captured in a setting that matched their timeless story.
Kelly’s Review:
Debora and her team are phenomenal and so detailed in their work. She really listened to what types of photos I wanted and she was so creative in creating the perfect shots! I was blown away by how many different varieties of photos she created for me and really captured exactly what I wanted . We had photos done for: the night before our wedding party, our wedding, reception and a separate sunset photo shoot. These are the best photos my husband and I have together and I could not be more pleased! 💕 I am already planning to reach out to her again for family photos and anniversaries in the future!! Top notch!
